Context
Dawn Collective, a women-led theatre company, amplifies untold stories with a focus on marginalized voices, particularly bi-cultural and female perspectives. By dismantling stereotypes and fostering connections, their work highlights our shared human needs for love, acceptance, and visibility. In a dual-cultural society, they remind us of the universal threads that bind us together.
Tasked with reimagining their visual identity, we aimed to reflect their ethos of inclusivity, innovation, and collaboration. At the heart of their vision is collectivity—a diverse group uniting to tell stories that celebrate the collective human experience.
Design
Inspired by the dual “L”s in Collective, the identity emphasizes interconnectedness and togetherness, reflecting the company’s community-driven storytelling. The typography’s open, fluid design symbolizes inclusivity and transformation, where every voice contributes to the whole.
Breaking from traditional theater branding, the aesthetic is bold and modern, designed to attract younger, broader audiences and connect the arts with diverse communities.
Dawn represents both the beginning of light and the illumination sparked by shared stories. This theme shapes every element of the branding, reinforcing their message: new stories, fresh perspectives, and a brighter, more connected future.
