Context
I am deeply honored to have contributed to the visual identity and title sequence for What’s Right, a documentary that asks the urgent question: What is right?
In the series, writer Johan Fretz explores how political choices of the past have shaped these urgent issues. Through four themes, he traces their political histories while engaging in candid conversations with both allies and opponents, challenging his own convictions along the way. The result is a compelling exploration of how the principles of social democracy have arrived at a moment of crisis.
Design
Focusing on the Netherlands’ most pressing societal challenges—housing, employment, healthcare, and migration—the series reflects on the opposing sides of today’s debates. The title design embodies this tension, in type, colour, and position, highlighting the clash of perspectives at the heart of democratic and social crises we face not only in the Netherlands, but worldwide.
